This could be done easily. When your operating system is not working properly or you think that there is a need of getting it fixed, you can just insert the disc into the computer and restart it and follow the simple steps that come to the screen to get it restored. Once you have done this, you can eventually fix your windows. When you are making restore points, make sure that you add some comments to those points so that you can know about what was the last best point from where you can fix the computer with restore feature.

There could be a number of errors either due to viruses or malfunctioning of some software arises in the computer that makes the windows operating system not useable. Other than having a CD or DVD with you, you can also make restore points in your computer. Ultimately doing this will help you to restore your computer from the point where you left it working properly. These restore points will actually set your computer and its internal settings to such a position when your computer is working perfectly fine. When you are going to install some software that you do not trust or that can cause some problem to the computer, just make a restore point before you install that.

This feature was introduced in windows xp, but most of the people were unaware of this feature or they did not pay much attention to this feature of windows. Later it was included with some amendments in windows vista. This has almost complete feature of restoring a computer from the point where it was working correctly. Just do not forget to make restore points when you are feeling like have a trouble in near future. Although before installing updates or doing some specific work windows automatically set restore points, but care is always better than cure.
