Driver Guide – Chances are you will need to find a driver to update or get your PC devices working properly. Driverguide.com is a great source to find up-to-date drivers for your PC.
Spybot Search & Destroy - This is a highly recommended download for all PC users who use the internet for emails, gaming, or just surfing. It’s a free program (donations welcomed) that blocks and gets rid of spyware, adware and malware on your PC. They have a comprehensive and up-to-date spyware definition database that is better than most retail anti-spyware programs. The program takes about 1 minute to install and will save you the headaches of a spyware or adware infected PC.
AVG – Another highly recommended download for your PC. Make sure to get the internet security version that includes a powerful firewall that blocks malicious packets. Whenever we get a new PC, we make sure it gets AVG internet security running on it first before any other program is installed. It’s that important and powerful.
Annoyances.org – We visit this site often when troubleshooting persistent and new PC problems with everything from hardware to software issues. There are plenty of articles with helpful tips here. But the best thing about this site are the forums with experienced users and others who have the same PC troubles as you trying to find solutions and fixes.
Dell’s new Support Site – If you own a Dell and have problems with it, you should defiantly go to this website. Chances are many other Dell customers have similar or the exact same problems you have. We recently had a mother board failure issue with our M1530 Dell laptop just when the warranty was about to expire and hundreds of Dell M1530 owners have the same problem. A solution was stickied in the forum.
HP’s Support site – Own an HP product? Go here for support and grab the latest firmwares, bios, drivers, and hot fixes for your HP products. The database is somewhat questionable because some driver links are broken and files are just missing in the FTP.
