Win32 Generic Host

In windows xp, a number of people have faced and they are still facing Win32 Generic Host error. The first reason is that your computer is filled with much kind of viruses that is infecting the computer and one virus is getting over another’s configurations that create even more complexities and as a result Win32 Generic Host error occurs.

So the first thing that you should do is to scan your computer thoroughly for viruses. If you are not able to run antivirus on your computer, then you should start it on safe mood and then try installing the antivirus. This would not be fair to rate just one antivirus good or bad. So when you are looking for virus search and destroy, search internet for antivirus ratings and chose the one with the best feedback and ratings because the tag of good antivirus and virus killers changes frequently. Internet is the biggest source of this kind of software. They might be like a package of a good working program and a spy thread in it, or it might be something like a total file that contains material to spy. If you have downloaded some software from an unsecured website and you think that this would not harm your computer, then you can continue executing it. If the file disappears after running, it is 90% a virus.

Viruses are not the only cause of win32 generic host troubles. A legal DLL file may also cause this. When that dll which has an association with svchost.exe is crashed and you have to restart the system, the win32 generic host errors will occur. In this way, you have to reinstall windows. This is not necessary that you format all of your hard disk and start a fresh copy of windows, but you can also overwrite the existing version of windows. This will replace the corrupted files and if that software does not runs again that caused this problem, the computer would be fine.

If you have just installed some update from windows’ server, this could also be the reason that the update does not match the system requirements or the software that is previously installed in your computer conflicted with that update. This most probably happens in windows xp service pack 2.

That last reason of win32 generic host error is that you have installed some old driver of the hardware issues by hp and those drivers are not computable with the new version of svchost.exe. So, search for the new drivers and the problem might get solved.
